Despite being born in the heart of Tyler, Texas; after relocating as a child it would be the city of Houston that vocalist Christopher DeShun Ward would call home. Taking an interest in music at an early age, his path would temporarily be delayed after being incarcerated at just 21-years-old. Using the ordeal for personal motivation, at 22 he would emerge a more mature artist; vowing to take back control of his career.
Focusing on songwriting and recording, in 2011 Ward would release his debut EP, The Prelude to Shun Ward City, paving his path into the industry. Collaborating with a number of producers overseas, he followed up with “What’s Your Name,” his first EDM track. Initially released in Italy, the single proved that he could make his mark abroad and still gain spins back home.
From there it was all about the grind. As the lead vocalist he shined on Kontor Records (Germany) compilation album Top Of The Clubs: Vol. 59, teaming with up with Snoop Dogg, T-Pain and Flo’Rida. Not one to rest, after appearing on Texas legend Devin The Dude’s "One For The Road" album, Shun Ward finally released his first independent album, "Shun Ward – USA (Under Shun’s Authority)".
And he hasn’t stopped, joining Joe Nebula on “Dying For Love” and “Turn It Up,” both originally aired during BBC Introducing. After dropping the Derek Flynz assisted single “Hot Pursuit” in Spain, Ward linked up with Yung Martez for a MTV feature banger called “When I Call”
Presently Shun Ward had rebranded himself under a new name, "Eddie Coke" in order to debut a new style. Get ready world for the introduction to "Eddie Coke."
